Daniel Feldman,
17, has had a passion for music since he was a kid. He got his
first drum at the age of seven, and discovered his talent and love
for percussions. He began taking formal drum set classes at the
age of 8, and from then grew as a musician. From there his
teachers introduced him to world music and hand percussion, he
learned to play Latin, African and Middle Eastern music. He
started to teach himself by practicing and listening and was
sponsored by Sageman drums.
By the age of
eleven he played and recorded with Zeji Ozeri, San Diego’s
important and well loved Jewish educator and musician. In 2006 he
was invited to play in several places around the city with Jzmn,
a well know local band including musicians and students from Ike
Turner, Ravi Shankar.
He recently
recorded with Steph Johnson on her single, winner of the Your Song
competition with “In My Hood” for the San Diego Magazine,
in Jason Mraz’s studio.
Since 2007
Daniel attends Canyon Crest Academy where he has been playing in
the Jazz Band, Jazz Combos, Symphonic Band, Midi Digital Recording
and after school Conservatory. He also attended different music
summer camps, including UCSD Jazz camp and Power Chord Academy.
He plans on
studying music as a profession, pursuing his dream of being a
musician.
